March Tea Themes
Per Wikipedia, March is the third month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of the seven months that are 31 days long. It is typically a month of wild weather transitions, as winter officially leaves on March 20th and spring (finally) arrives. Historically, March is a great month for tea sales, because while the weather over most of the US might not be beachy, it certainly is not so bad as to keep customers home. Plus, as the winter chill lingers, and the March winds blow, a fine cup of tea is perfect for what ails the winter weary soul.
If you are looking for a theme for an event, there are plenty from which to choose. Perhaps the most fun is Mardi Gras, which falls on March 8th this year. That is soon, so you had better plan fast! King Cake, costumes and all the revelry of a Mardi Gras celebration might be just the thing to get people into your business.
If you are going for a geekier occasion, you may want to consider Albert Einstein's birthday (March 14th), which is also Pi Day - I suppose it is all relative. (ha!)
Also, it is Women's History Month and American Red Cross Month. These would certainly be great themes for holding charitable events in your tearoom. Be sure to decorate with lovely, sunny daffodils, as they are the official flower of March! This year, when I see the first one sprouting from the long snow covered ground, I'm going to hug it!
Happy March!
