Our Word of the Year: PIVOT
In a year unlike any other, it has been thrilling, scary, and awe inspiring to watch our business clients handle the many challenges of 2020.
Early on, once the initial shock of the COVID shutdown was processed, our clients who had put off website updates in order to direct their energies into their more demanding physical locations, pivoted quickly to focus on online sales.
Restaurants pivoted to become provision purveyors and tearooms pivoted to become e-commerce centered in what seems like the blink of an eye. Hearing ingenious stories about somehow packaging up a full three-tiered afternoon tea, and creating tea drinks for curbside pickup made our hearts full and quelled the fears that naturally arise when facing the unknown.
On the supplier side, we had our own hand wringing with shipping container shortages, vendor production slow downs, courier delays and surcharges, as well as our own needs to implement extra COVID precautions for the safety of our employees as well as our clients. This naturally stressed our systems, but once weaknesses are identified, you now know what needs to be fixed, which will surely make us stronger for the future.
Our hats are off to our to you all in your epic efforts to recreate your business and survive this incredible year! Cheers to 2021 and implementing all we have learned. We wish you all good health, much happiness, and wonderful prosperity in the year ahead. Thank you for your business and for inspiration in the darkest of times.
